Our story
It started as a village blacksmith
The roots of PicnixX date back to 1902, the year Lambertus Elders started a blacksmith shop on Dorpsstraat in Heeten. Over the years, the company evolved into a fully-fledged metal production business. In 2006, the fourth generation took over and placed greater focus on producing products for outdoor spaces. In 2015, production of street furniture for public areas began. In 2018, the PicnixX collection was officially launched with two models. Over the years, the collection has expanded significantly. Today, PicnixX operates internationally and delivers a wide variety of projects.
More than furniture
Thanks to its design and high quality, a PicnixX table offers a true experience. Whether used indoors or outdoors, in private or business environments, the design is recognizable, timeless, and above all functional. A great example of this is the integrated sunshade. This type of product was missing from the market, which inspired us to develop our multifunctional concept. But we do more. At PicnixX, you can also turn to us for custom projects and for greening your outdoor space. You can rely on our sister brand Public Outdoor Creations, which specializes in projects for public spaces.
Our Crew
PicnixX was founded by Maarten Snoek. Our starting point has always been to bring the best possible product to market at an attractive price, without intermediaries. This makes our tables accessible to a wide audience. Thanks to an efficient, no-nonsense, and well-organized structure, we keep the production costs of the PicnixX collection as low as possible, without compromising on quality. In addition to PicnixX, he is co-owner of several companies, including our production company Elders Metaal, Public Outdoor Creations, and Plantboxx, which develops greening concepts. However, the true driving force behind PicnixX is our team of nearly 40 skilled professionals who manufacture our products at our modern production facility in Heeten, the Netherlands. These are the people who ensure, day in and day out, that our unique products are crafted with the utmost care and attention.
Passionate About Quality
Despite the consumer-driven world we live in, we choose quality. Instead of cheap, environmentally harmful products with a short lifespan, we are driven by the pursuit of excellence. Our goal is always to achieve the highest possible quality, with every detail carefully considered. The Camaru hardwood we use has a lifespan of over 30 years and requires minimal maintenance. The frames are made from stainless steel or aluminum and are completely rust-resistant. This makes your PicnixX product one of the most durable options on the market. As an added detail, in addition to using sustainable materials, we also plant 4.5 hectares of forest in Brazil. Something we are incredibly proud of.
PicnixX Tree For Bench Project
Meet the PicnixX Trees For Bench Project. This is a unique project in which, for every bench sold, we will plant a tree in the Amazon region. By doing so, we will grow our own PicnixX forest. With this project, we are reinforcing our efforts to become the world’s most sustainable manufacturer of outdoor furniture by actively contributing to nature conservation and development.
